Children often play very important roles in a wedding party. Boys can be ring bearers and girls are usually flower girls. The flower girls are taught to gracefully carry attractive flower girl baskets from which they daintily gather rose petals and scatter along the entire length of the white bridal carpet. Girls get the opportunity to show off their grown up skills and boys get the opportunity to play the role of a real ring bearer.
These roles serve as miniature learning curves and can last a lifetime in picture or video format. My eyes seem to get teary when I witness a little girl or boy nicely groomed and dutifully functioning as they were instructed to do. The ring bearer and flower girl usually precede the entry of the bride, and have to be quite brave as all eyes are usually focused on their little hands and their well made attire. It gives me great joy to be an attendee at someone’s wedding and to observe all these very nice details. I will always admire those cute flower girl baskets, neatly finished with their coordinated bows.
