Gone are the days when the fingers were used to support a slice of wedding cake in order to lift it onto the plate.  Not only is it not in sync with the rules of acceptable social graces, but it also looks simply improper.

Cake servers are great reasons to celebrate. They are often stream lined with clean and distinct edges.  This flutes and cake knife serving set is crafted in smooth glass, intricately edged acrylic and stainless steel.  This wedding cake knife and server set is destined to succeed.  Your fingers are expected to curl around the handle of the cake server or the knife, but definitely not to support the slice of cake on its way to the plate.  Allow the very attractive cake server to perform its function with great efficiency.

A Bird Cage for the Wedding Cards

Tia and Gary were now man and wife.  They had already exchanged wedding vows and had signed their marriage certificate. They posed for several pictures with relatives and friends and quite a few with just two of them. They went for what seemed to the guests like a very long ride while the guests chatted and greeted each other before getting into their vehicles and driving off to the reception hall.

The reception hall was quite impressive. There were colorful tropical flowers at the entrance of the building.  The foyer was painted with pastel colors that blended well with each other.  The floors were a kind of jazzy marble leading to a carpeted stairway to the upper level.  The Horsd’oeuvres  were appropriately served at different stations and were also thematized to match different cultures.

The wedding guests were invited to the third level where the reception program would begin shortly. Members of the bridal party were announced as the entrance door popped open to reveal each couple.  The last to appear were the bride and groom. Everyone stood to welcome the newly weds. The bride smiled happily and her husband cautiously guided her to her seat at the head table.

A table was reserved for wedding gifts. The item that caught my attention was a silver bird cage with wedding cards.  This I thought was the most creative wedding card holder that I have ever seen. It seemed to gently spin on its own, exposing each of the four sides of the cage and the delicately colored contents. This was truly a delightful sight to behold.
Cheers to a wonderful couple!

The wedding ceremony was a delight. All members of the bridal party performed very well. The couple beamed with great pride as they signed the marriage certificate.  They would be taken next on a scenic ride through Roger Williams Park where wedding pictures are enhanced by the beautifully kept flowers and shrubs.

It was time to head back to the reception hall where the guests were anxiously waiting for the bridal party to arrive.  The table settings included dinner plates and soup bowls as well as champagne flutes.  On the bridal table the dinner wares were quite similar, but the flutes were special. They were trumpet wedding champagne flutes with a circle of gold around the rim.  They were an instant winner and were quite attractive to everyone who beheld them.

There were some eloquent speakers and some very fine toasts. I believe the bride and groom were satisfied that their special day had come to a successful end.

Soft and Lacy Wedding Garters

I sat around a table with three other married couples.  Our conversation spread across multiple random topics.  We talked about Brooklyn versus Queens and Long Island.  We talked about the beauty and  grandeur of the reception hall.  We talked about the food that was well prepared and tastefully served.  We even talked about the youthfulness of the waiters.

Soon it was time for the father and daughter’s dance and then the groom and his mother waltzed for a short while.  The toast to the bride from her only sister was quite emotional and touching. Soon it was time for sorority sisters to display their talents and after this the bride tossed her bouquet for the lucky young lady to catch.

Best of all was the moment I was waiting for and that was the tossing of the wedding garter by the groom.  I leaned over to a wonderful young man and beckoned to him that he needed to be in line to catch the wedding garter that the groom was preparing to toss. He smiled with a twinkle in his eye and repeated my question right back at me. He was apparently quite comfortable with his status as a very handsome bachelor. We were still talking when we heard a roar of laughter and noticed that a stocky young man had caught the garter.
It was now time for the young lady who caught the bouquet to have the wedding garter placed on her leg by the stocky young man who caught it.  It appeared as if everyone had a rubber neck as they peered over the back of their chairs to see this interesting activity.
Cheers to the wonderful bride and her groom for a wedding filled with laughter.

Joyce and her husband Carl are leaving the little white church after their wedding ceremony.  After a brief picture session in a nearby park, the couple and the wedding party will be arriving at the reception hall.  The master of ceremonies announced the entry of the parents of the bride and groom and then the bridesmaids and groomsmen.
At last the bride and groom made their entry and the guests stood and applauded them. They smiled as they walked in and took their seats at the head table.

The meal was served and the toasts were raised in favor of the bride and groom as well as to the members of the wedding party. It was time for the bride and groom to cut their four tiered wedding cake and to feed each other with a generous piece of cake. In order to make this activity possible the couple was given a wedding cake server set.  The guests were excited, and cheered loudly.  Everyone seemed to be having a fun filled time.

After the very elaborate wedding ceremony the bridal party went to witness the signing of the marriage certificate.  The guests all filed out of the beautiful church to form small groups of old friends and acquaintances who wanted to ‘catch up’ after long absences from each other.  The atmosphere was filled with laughter and the general mood was quite relaxed. In a few more minutes the small groups of individuals started to get in their vehicles and driving towards the reception hall.

The reception hall was well equipped to serve a variety of foods and beverages.  Guests were milling around and just sampling new and attractive foods.

The wedding coordinator announced that all the guests should move up to the next level and also to bring along their seating assignments.  Several toasts were made to the newly married couple and their attendants.  The best man raised his elegant champagne flute and asked everyone to drink to the health and prosperity of his brother the groom and his lovely bride. Everyone was delighted to raise their champagne flutes and drink to the health and prosperity of the beautiful couple.

Marie and her boyfriend Tom had always entertained the idea of getting married one day. The only problem was that they did not have enough money to finance a big wedding to which all their best friends and family members would be invited.  Tom and Marie decided that they would go ahead and have a small private ceremony at City Hall and maybe later on they could have a big reception to which all their friends and family would be invited.

What the couple did not know was that Marie’s sister Maizie had been planning a big surprise party for them immediately after the private ceremony.  Maizie had asked family members and friends to gather at their local church hall with different kinds of wedding gifts for Tom and Marie. Some of the gifts included spa gifts and personalized champagne flutes.  Maizie was sure Tom and Marie were unaware of this plan. It would be a total surprise.
